BEFORE YOU APPLY
Before you apply for your F-1 student visa, you will need official acceptance from a US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)-approved high school, community college university or career college. The school will provide you with the proper form to be completed: USCIS form I-20 A-B/ID.

An important aspect to remember before you apply is that you will be asked to provide evidence that you can support yourself (and any family members travelling with you) financially for the duration of your stay, as well as pay for return travel to your home country. Be sure to have this documentation ready.
